This spring I had the pleasure of designing some custom lettering for Alex Steed’s ME State House Campaign. Running as an independent, he was looking for lettering that differentiated his campaign from what people are familiar with. Alex was looking for bold, in-your-face lettering that encourages action without being completely off-putting. The result was block letters softened with curves on internal edges.
One of Alex’s primary campaign platforms is to promote local artisans, business and agriculture. This was carried into the logo design by giving all of the characters a textured treatment. To accomplish I partnered with graphic designer and illustrator Arielle Walrath, to add a hand-painted texture to each letterform.

McGowan for Maine campaign was looking for an identity piece that spoke was approachable yet sophisticated. The key was to find a middle ground between traditional serif faces, that are are too formal, and san-serif faces that are cold and sterile.

Swanback Jacks is a breeder of Jack Russell terriers that was looking for a logo that was roughly based on a concept that was used on some signs they had made.
The client wanted to continue having the "S" in the title depicted as a swan but also wanted to incorporate the profile of a terrier as well.
