Swanback Jacks is a breeder of Jack Russell terriers that was looking for a logo that was roughly based on a concept that was used on some signs they had made.

The client wanted to continue having the “S” in the title depicted as a swan but also wanted to incorporate the profile of a terrier as well.
The first step was to select a new font to be the basis of the sign. We finally settled on a script face that was very elegant but similar in style to the existing logo. Once the rough form of the customized “S” was determined it was fine tuned to match the the stroke weight and density of the font.
